Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based approach to providing highly effective employment services to people with mental health needs. The Veterans CARE pay for success project would provide IPS services to over 480 unemployed veterans who have been diagnosed with one or more mental health conditions in multiple VA Medical Centers across the country. Measurable outcomes include job attainment and retention, increased earnings, reduced usage of emergency and in-patient health services, and a decrease in symptoms of mental illness, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression.
