Low-cost randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are a powerful new tool for building scientific evidence about "what works" in social spending. In 2013, the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF), in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, funded the launch of a low-cost RCT competition. This next iteration of the competition will award $150,000 to proposals that are rated strongly and meet the criteria laid out in this RFP.
